She loved the energy found in a small group setting, so vastly different from the independent nature of running. Since her first class Julianna has eagerly experimented with many different methods and approaches to group exercise. After her first class with Tanya at barre n9ne® she knew she would not be able to get enough. The barre n9ne® method was like nothing she had ever tried before…a constant challenge without a plateau. She worked with Tanya to master the method and is excited to share her passion for fitness through teaching!

Stefanie has grown up in the Boston area and has been active since a young age. She began dancing at the age of five and has not stopped since! Throughout her childhood and teen years, Stefanie trained as a competitive dancer. While in college, Stefanie discovered her other passion in life – fitness. She began taking group exercise classes and was so drawn into the energy and camaraderie that these classes provided for her. Immediately after graduating college, she obtained her group exercise certification through AFAA and began teaching a variety of different classes. A year later, she became a licensed Zumba instructor, which became the perfect fit for her, as it combined her love of both dance and fitness into one sweaty, exciting hour. More recently, Stefanie has become licensed in Pilates, cycling, personal training, and various different types of fitness methods. During the winter of 2012, she finally took that next step and became a certified barre instructor! She absolutely loves teaching at barre n9ne® for so many reasons, but especially for the way in which it combines her passion for fitness with her old days of intense ballet training. She also enjoys working with new and expecting mothers through the baby barre™ classes, as she recently gave birth to her first child, James Anthony, in November 2011! Alison Oxton

Fitness Instructor

Alison is a spirited woman with passion for health, fitness, competitive sports and well-being. Throughout her life, she developed a love for running, yoga, and a mix of various different exercises. Alison’s love for health and well-being motivated her to obtain a Master’s of Science Degree in Nursing at Northeastern University where she gained an advanced education in anatomy and physiology. While she was working hard on her degree, she found barre n9ne® studio and became an instant devotee. Alison's passion for strength and flexibility was obvious as soon as she stepped foot into her first barre n9ne® method class. After attending many classes, she found that the secret to a successful workout came from focusing on alignment rather than movement. She is often heard saying that barre n9ne's philosophy of mind-body fitness makes her stronger physically and mentally which transfers to a more rewarding daily life. Alison has dedicated herself and her teaching to that understanding. She is thankful for the opportunity to teach classes at barre n9ne® and for being part of the fabulously fit team! Whether Alison is snowboarding in the winter, paddleboarding in the summer, practicing yoga, reading, or cooking, she strives to make each day her best day.

Jessica Sutera

Fitness Instructor

Jessica Sutera brings a deep-rooted enthusiasm for health and fitness to each of her barre n9ne® method classes. After seeing her body (and mind) transform as a result of the barre n9ne method, she became barre n9ne®-certified as a way to pay it forward. She not only wanted to help others achieve their fitness goals, but more importantly, she wanted to help clients learn to love their bodies again by recognizing their own strength every time they sidled up to the barre. Teaching at barre n9ne® is a dream come true for Jessica and she’s thrilled to be part of the barre n9ne® family. Aside from her day job as an analyst relations manager, she blogs about health and fitness (and all things barre) at http://eatdrinkbreathesweat.com where she’ll soon be documenting her training as a first-time marathoner, a goal she set for herself for this October when she’ll run the Chicago Marathon with her husband of 7+ years.
